A rodeo can’t be a rodeo without contestants...

and the Energy Town ProRodeo Committee has set up this page to provide information specifically for the cowboys and cowgirls who enter our rodeo. We want your experience at the Energy Town ProRodeo to be a good one so read on and if there is something more you’d like to know, then let us know!

Performance Times

The Energy Town ProRodeo will be held on Friday, August 6th & Saturday, August 7th in Gillette, Wyoming.  Performances are at 7:00 P.M. both nights. Steer Roping is held on Thursday, August 5th at 1:00 P.M. Timed event slack takes place on Friday, August 6th.  The performances start out with a kid’s Mutton Bustin’ competition. Depending upon the number of our rough stock entries, we may have two sections in the rough stock events.

Location

The Energy Town ProRodeo is held in the Morningside Park Arena at the Cam-Plex Facility in Gillette, Wyoming. Located just off of I-90, take exit 129 and go south on Garner Lake Road approximately 1 mile and turn left on Windmill Drive.

Parking

All rodeo parking is located in the infield of the arena and in the east stall area.

Stalls

Cam-plex is one of the host sites of the National High School Finals Rodeo and has a vast amount of stalls on grounds. The committee provides free stalls for our rodeo contestants, with the only contingency being that rodeo contestants use the stalls on the east side of the infield. The west stalls are reserved for the 4H and FFA kids and their projects.

Hospitality Tent

Let us feed you and your family at our free Hospitality Tent. Located at the north end of the arena, the Hospitality Tent serves hot food at both performances and the steer roping performance and features biscuits and gravy for Friday morning slack. There is also the Neighborhood Barbeque on Saturday, August 7th at 5:00 P.M. which is free to the public and contestants are welcome there as well.

Personnel

Barney Sheridan, PRCA rodeo announcer from Arlee, Montana will be calling the action in the Morningside Park arena. Daughter Nikki will be on hand to run the music board and the duo will be sure to keep the rodeo action fast-paced and entertaining. Miss Rodeo Wyoming, Erin Heffron, will be on hand throughout the rodeo and adds great charm and beauty to the production. "Rocket Ryan" Litwin from Bozeman, MT will be the barrel man.  Check out www.RocketRyan.com.

Livestock

Burch Rodeo Company provides top-notch bucking horses and bulls for the Energy Town ProRodeo. Every nod of the head is guaranteed a great ride and every cowboy has a chance to win a paycheck on a Burch animal. The committee contracts our own timed event stock and this year the calves, bull dogging steers and team roping steers have been contracted with Brookman Rodeo Company of Sidney, Montana.

Co-Approvals

The Energy Town ProRodeo is approved in the Mountain States circuit, and co-approved with the Badlands Circuit and the Montana Circuit.

Pink Night

Friday, August 6th is the Energy Town ProRodeo’s Pink Night. We encourage all the contestants to wear pink. For every person wearing a pink shirt in the audience, the Energy Town ProRodeo committee will donate $1 to a local breast cancer support group.
